Throughout the book, extensive use is made of illustrations and photograghs. These are intended to help the reader visualize and develop an intuitive sense regarding the ROM evalution techniques and to facilitate the learning and practice of reliable joint ROM evaluation. joint Motion and Function: A Research-Based Practical Guide also provides an undesrtanding of similar treatments and sets high standars of clinical evaluation of joint ROM. it si my intent to provide physical and occupational therapists with a research-based practical approach to reliably assess and measure ROM and iedntify when these clinical findings affect a patient's health and/or funtion. Learning a clinical skill requires both classroom and clinicl environments;therefore,the presentation style used in this book will serve as a useful adjunct to self-directed learning in these environments. Jiont Motion and Function assessment: A Research-Based Practical Guide serves as a guide to the evaluation of joint ROM, including muscle length and funtional ROM.The Content was written with the assumption that the reader possesses prerequsite knowledge of musculoskeletal system anatomy. This texbook is primarily intended for students in physical and occuptional therapy programs,regardless of the academic level of entry to the professions,since the study of the evlaution of joint ROM remains,the same. Because of the presentation style,this texbook will also serve as a useful clinical refrence for the practicing therapist. |
