This edition is published thirteen years after the fisrt. Then,we were proposing a new way to think about massage. This was to ensure that the skill of massage ws practised within a scientific framework, with sound clinical deciisions based on the best evidence. The second edition considerably updated the research-base. The third edition has refreshed the text and considerably dveloved the sport massage section(chapter 13). This chapter has been written by Julie Sparrow, a chartered physiotherapist with considerable experience of working with with athletes at all levels,including international athletes both with and without disabilities.
