Understanding Such Universal phenomena as movement and strength requires an understanding of the neuromascular sysytem.Since muscle represent about 3/4of the body mass,a healthy muscular systemis associated with healthy cardiovascular,Pulmonary,and endocrine systems. Conversely disorders of the neuromascularsystem have dranatic effects on daily activities and indepedence. There is currently no other text available that presents evidence-based basic science of muscle and its plasticity in an simple, unified manner. The purpose of this books is to provide this basic science information to practitioners in a way that is usable and digestible. TRuoghout the text, in tervention strategis and traditional thinking are critically evaluated in light of the data presented. Many of the worlds most outstanding experiments are presented and interpreted in a way that provides unifying principles to the understanding of skeletal muscle structure,funtion,and plsticity. |
