| Abstract/Notes | Since the adoption of the Millennium Development Goals(MDGs)bywold leaders at the Unied Nations Millennium Summit in September 2000 concern has been growing about the millions of both stillbirth and newborn deaths that take place each year.Reducing child mortality is one of the goals of the MDGs but experts argue thatthat the targetof neonatal reduction will only be met if newborn deaths could be reduced by at least a healf. The government of republic of Indonesia is communitted to achieving the MDGs in the form of packages with measurable objectives for development and proverty reduction in 2015. The 8 goals includes the following: 1)Reductionof poverty and hunger, 2)Meeting the basic education for all. 3)Promoting gender equalityand women empowerment. 4) Reducing under-fives mortality, 5) Improving maternal health, 6) Eliminating HIV/AID,malaria and other infectious diseases, 7) Ensuring the preservation of the enviroment,and 8)Developing a global psrtnersjip for development,Achienment of the MDG goals ar intertwined with one another. |
