Pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period are transitional periods for a
woman and are complex life events that affect the biological, psychological and
social life experienced by the mother. Worldwide about 10% of pregnant women
and 13% of laboring women experience mental disorders, mostly early depression.
The incidence of baby blues syndrome in the world is between 26% and 85%.
Therefore, psychological adaptation during pregnancy is needed. One of the ways
to create good psychological adaptation during pregnancy is with the bond between
mother and fetus that needs to be improved. Maternal and fetal bonding plays an
important role for maternal and fetal health. If this bond is not achieved, various
newborn problems can occur such as LBW, prematurity, and IUGR. The purpose
of the study was to determine the factors that influence prenatal attachment. The
research method used an analytic method with a cross sectional model. The sample
in this study were pregnant women who did ANC at TPMB Mathilda Diyah Astuti
Bogor City, with a total of 101 pregnant women. The sampling technique was
purposive sampling. Data analysis was used using the chi square test. Of the 6
variables studied, only three variables affect prenatal attachment, namely the
gestational age variable with a p-value of 0.018 and OR 3.989, the parity variable
with a p-value of 0.039 and OR 3.117, and the education variable with a result of
0.031 and OR 3.600. So it can be concluded that the factors of pregnancy age,
parity, and education are significantly related to prenatal attachment. It is hoped
that this research can be taken into consideration in carrying out pregnancy care,
where not only physical health is considered but psychological health needs to be
considered.
