Infant and child mortality rates reflect the level of health development
of a country. One of the goals of the third Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
in the second target is to end preventable deaths of babies and toddlers by 2030.
Therefore, in order to reduce child morbidity and mortality rates, the United
Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the World Health Organization (WHO)
recommend early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) within one hour after birth,
babies should receive exclusive breast milk for 6 months, and Breastfeeding is
continued for up to 2 years. According to WHO in 2023, Indonesia's exclusive
breastfeeding coverage in 2022 was recorded at only 67.96%, down to 69.7% from
2021. Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in West Java in 2022 was 69.9%. This is
still below the national target of 80%. The factors that influence the success of
exclusive breastfeeding include family support, especially husband's support,
mother's knowledge, mother's age, mother's occupation, mother's education,
mother's values and culture and the type of birth the mother experienced
